NovaOS Discord Server Rules

If you feel you may be emotionally or mentally distressed, please take care and avoid engaging with content that may be upsetting.

Terms used in this document:
  • Owner is the person or entity that owns the server.
  • We / Us / Me / I / Mods refer to some person / system that owns / protects legally under the supervision from the owner.
  • You, the reader, or the presence that violated rules on a discussion.
Rules List
  1. Be nice and respectful to members.
  2. Follow discord To's.

    2. It's not legal to use discord under the age of 13.Let everyone have a good time.
    1. No discussion of porn, rape or harmful entities like weaponry, wars or conflicts. 
        1. Do not post content including blood, gore, nudity etc. 
        2. Avoid posting disturbing content that could be harmful or upsetting to others.
        3. This includes protecting users from discussions that could be harmful or upsetting.
    2. Don't be rude, specially to me.
      1. Mac users swear by their Mac, PC users swear at their PC, Nova users don't swear.
      2. Swearing is considered rude, especially in situations where it can be avoided. Punishments to this can vary from timeouts to kicks.
        1. Persistently swearing even after being asked to stop is unacceptable.
      3. Absolutely no slurs are allowed.
    3. Do not spam. 
    4. No NSFW content. 
      1. Posting pictures that include human body parts is restricted.
      2. Posting pictures that include human body parts that are inappropriate is prohibited and will result in a ban.
    5. Follow channel topics. You would receive punishments if you broke this rule. Punishments can range from blocking media uploads to server kicks.
    6. Being a Nova supporter is a personal choice, but other than the perks, you should too must not ignore the rules.
    7. Don't use alt accounts to escape timeouts. We'll just timeout you again if you did.
    8. Talking about religion, gender, sexuality or caste in a bad or repetitive or dominative way will be taken seriously.
      1. religion, gender, sexuality, race, occupation, scores, leaderboards, physical differences or caste should not be a topic of argument.
      2. There shall be No Differences (other than the effectiveness and abilities achieved using it) or special allowances or perks or discrimination or degrading speech for using a different 'regular' operating system, hardware or having a unique client system.
    9. Being LGBTQ+ is welcome and respected. But there shall be No Differences or special allowances or perks for being LGBTQ+.  
      1. Same goes for any gender, sexuality, race, occupation, scores, leaderboard statuses, physical differences.
    10. Using someone's correct pronouns is essential and must be respected.
    11. Do not DM advertise.
    12. This is an English-speaking server, the English translation of any statements made by anyone will prevail over the others.
    13. You can make arguments that are according to these rules to prevent actions being taken against you, but anyone can defend you with these same rules.
    14. By posting your service in ⁠self-promo, you are 'partnering' with NovaOS. As a result, NovaOS reserves the right to oversee and manage aspects of your service.
    15. Mods could kick, ban or timeout you or take any required action in some situations where you are violating the rules.
    16. Mods have final discretion to avoid rule-lawyering.
    17. The rules change whenever the owners wanted. 
    18. Persistent breaking of rules is punishable.
    Why rules?
    Rules exist for wellbeing of everyone. This also exists so we can resolve conflicts or issues better. Violation of these rules may result in actions taken by moderators, Discord, or legal authorities, depending on the severity of the infraction. Following these rules is required to participate in this server.

      • Improved clarity and added sub rules for swearing and usage of slurs.
    • 01-11-2024 (1.35)
      • Improved clarity on the rule for in minors on discord. 
      • The rule about 'finding loopholes in rules' was removed due to existence of rules 19, 16 and 18.
      • The statement about the rules changing with owner's wants is now a rule.
