Magic String
is a string stored in the Local Storage for fast password checking.
Memory
is the filesystem of NovaOS, typically referred to the variable on the temporary storage that's synced with the database item.
Quick metadata
is a property of a nova file object that shows some more data on the file.
Speed boot
is a fictional feature that is 'not yet implemented' or 'implemented partially' by NovaOS, that helps NovaOS load faster,
Nova Nav
is the basic NovaOS UI that you can see on the OS. This includes the 'bar-like UI element' at the bottom center of the screen. This also includes parts of NovaOS like the Search window, copilot window or the App menu.
App Menu
is the dialog that appears on screen when you press the Nova Button, that includes a grid of all the files in your 'Apps/' folder.
Nova button
is the button you can see in the center of the Nova Nav, looks like the letter 'N'.
Sleep mode
is a feature in Nova OS that helps you to set a countdown on different preset times. This decreases the brightness and alerts you when the countdown is done. You can also set a message on screen to let others know what's going on.
Search window
is the window that opens when you click the 'search' icon on the Nova Nav. This window / dialog includes features that helps you find and open files in your filesystem. This window also contains notifications and recent apps.
SmartSearch
is a feature in NovaOS that lets you search your filesystem using similarity algorithms.
Files
may refer to the Nova default app named the 'files app' which lets you manage files.
Battery remarks
is a feature in the NovaOS settings app that shows a 'remark' or a string that helps you to decide what to do with your device battery or plug it to the charger by looking at the percentage value and the charging status of your battery.
Local storage data manager
A tool that is available on the NovaOS settings app that can let you manage your local storage API.
window UID
A Unique identifier for windows in NovaOS set by the NovaOS kernel when a window is opened. Can be used to find a window and interact with it.
Simple mode
A setting in NovaOS to turn off fancy design elements like blur and transparency (works along with themes).
Window Snapping
The ability of windows to snap into place when they are dragged and dropped into the sides of the screen.
Focus Mode
A feature in NovaOS that lets you blur the background image while you use apps.
Nova Store database
A database that the store app interacts with to display the app grid.
Media chunk Loader
A feature in the NovaOS media player app that allows it to split the video into chunks and load them in one after the other.
